Caniço is a lively village with plenty going on, and you have everything close by to you.
A large range of restaurants give you a great choice of food, from traditional Portuguese, to one of the best chinese or pizza and pasta places on the Island. A distance of less than 300m you can find buss, taxi, pharmacy, post office, church, supermarkets, butcher, bakeries, pastries, shopping center, banks and ATM, hairdresser, spa, medical clinic, restaurants, esplanades, bars / pubs, etc Local beaches, spa's and scuba diving are just 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive - located at Caniço de Baixo and Reis Magos.
A beach with cable car access is located at Cristo Rei (lower Garajau) and is also a 5-8 minute drive or a 20 minute walk. There is also a regular bus service.
