The Neighborhood

Under the Old Town there is theMarina of Porto Ercole, with fish markets, grocery
shops, boutiques, restaurants, bars and cafes. Porto Ercole is well situated for exploring
southern Tuscany and north Latium as well as the Islands of Giglio and Giannutri.
Sailing, boating and water sport facilities are easily accessible. Only five minutes drive
from the house is one of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the Tuscan coast.
Extending from the Argentario in a 6 kilometers crescent to the mainland, it has all the
beach facilities including bars, restaurants, wind­surfing, water and jet skiing. Behind the 
beach is a magnificent pine forest with deer and other wildlife.
The port of Cala Galera is one of the first private ports built in Italy. It is located in the bay
east of Monte Argentario, about 3 km north­east of Port Ercole.
