Wonderful spacious quiet apartment.  The bedrooms were large sharing a balcony with a small table and chairs.  The kitchen is well outfitted with enough plates to feed an army!  The logistics for getting the keys was easy and Enzo showed us how to work everything.  The neighborhood (Monti) was great, cobbled streets, small shops and it was an easy walk to all of central Rome.

Absolutely loved this apartment. We had avoided booking it before because of the three flights of stairs but they were actually no problem - even in the heatwave! Plenty of space, beautiful decor & well equiped. Will definately return

Dear Guglielmo,
I just wanted to make you aware of the wonderful time we had in Rome due in great part to the superb support of Cristina and her brilliant apartment- we can't wait to come back!
Many thanks to you too and all the staff at Cities Reference; great job all round

Wonderful location, superbly equipped and with real character, plus an great library! But what really made this stay for us was the kindness and attention of the owner and the Roman Reference staff. Many thanks for a great holiday.

A beautiful apartment in the heart of Rome but away from the tourist areas. Spacious and well furnished, it is so Italian and so lovely. Enjoy.

A genuine home away from home! The apartment looks as pictured, but what you can't see is so much more! In a residential area, the only sounds that you hear are Romans going about their business. Everyone is friendly...a simply "Buongiorno" goes a long way. Several good restaurants within an easy walk. And, safety is not a concern, both in the apartment and on the street. Also, a nice food market on Via Buscheto....go to the end of Via Cimarra and take a right. We had bittersweet feelings when it was time to leave this wonderful apartment to head to Tuscany. Can't wait to come back. And, a big thank you to Enzo (the keyholder) who welcomed us so warmly. Ciao and grazie!

What an amazing apartment!!!
The location was absolutely perfect being centred in the old part of Roma. None of the incredible sights to see were more than a 25 minute walk away with the Coliseum being literally at the end of the road.
The layout of the apartment was fantastic with a lovely sitting room with balconies open onto the quiet road outside; fantastic to be able to hear local people and lovely music, a real sense of community.
The kitchen is perfect with all the things you would ever need to russel up a banquet if you wanted to!
The bedrooms both have balconies as well as airconditioning which is imperative in the hot season.
The two bathrooms were great and with the addition of a washer dryer machine it meant we could travel light!
Mariano from Roman Reference met us at the apartment at the agreed time, showed us where everything was in the apartment and how everything worked and was on hand at anytime that we might have needed him.
We could not fault the service that was afforded us from the time we booked the holiday until the time we left.
I could not recommend this apartment highly enough and we will be rebooking again in the next couple of years.
Thanks again for making our holiday so fantastic!

This apartment exceeded our expectations.  This was our first time renting an apartment and it was a great experience.  The location is great, close to the Coliseum, the Forum and about a mile from the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, and Piazza Navona.  It is also close to a metro stop. The apartment itself is large and exactly how it appears in the photos.  I highly recommend this apartment.

The apartment was fantastic in so many ways . To start with, Enzo who met us at the apartment was very friendly , helpful , professional and made us welcome . Raffaella who I emailed to and fro for weeks before was also very helpful and professional . These are a few of the reasons we will always stay there again if lucky enough to repeat a visit to Rome :
1. space and layout was terrific - 2 children shared a room , one on a large and comfortable roll out bed - with heaps of room and lots of storage
2. large bathroom and great ensuite
3. large airy and lovely main bedroom
3. loved the balcony - rear of home , quiet and lovely to sit and listen to Rome
4. the light in the apt resulted in it feeling cheery and airy
5. small kitchen with everything we needed - and more !
6. we loved the 3 sets of french doors across front of home , opening them every morning to people watch on the cute little street Via Cimarra
7. Location , location , location !  Monti area is so close to so much- sights, shops, resturants, bakery, supermarket, butcher , wine bars ,  train  etc
8.the feel of the apt is very Roman/Italian and we enjoyed the lovely furnishing and decorations , always feeling immersed in local type living .
The apt would be suitable for 2 people , and small families ( 2 children )  and lots of room to spread out . Mattresses are very very firm , but we were Ok with this
We felt priveleged and lucky to have had a friend recommend the apt to us , and we would absolutely highly recommend it as value for money!

Excellent appartment in a nice and quiet neighbourhood and walking distance to Colosseo. Suberb service from the beginning with booking etc and also really nice information by the appartment holder, Enzo. Thanks a lot. We really enjoyed the stay in Rome!

A nice and huge apartment in Rome. Everything you need is available and a lot more as well. We were perfectly welcomed, a Wifi issue got solved the same day. The location is close to many of the must sees in Rome. Basically, we managed to do everything by foot. A great place to stay.

Excellent, spacious apartment in a very convenient location in Rome for the Colloseum/Forum.  Close to the Cavour metro station.
A perfect place to stay.  It's in a quiet Roman residential street so is a nice relaxing place to be once you've done the hustle and bustle of Rome during the day.  Really nice restaurant and bars very close by.

This apartment in Rome was phenomenal.  I couldn't believe how large it was.  It was a great bargain for the the amount of space.  My favorite room was the small computer area in the back with a doorway onto the balcony.  The apartment was well appointed and very convenient to the colosseum and all of the sites in that area.  We ate at several of the many local restaurants only a short walk from the apartment.  The nearby market made it easy to pickup milk and other items so we could enjoy the apartment as if we were at home.  Enzo did a great job orientating us to the apartment.  The bottle of wine and coffee and other extras were great.  I highly recommend the apartment.  Though there was only two of us, it is obviously perfect for a family.  The two bedrooms and two full bathrooms keep you from stumbling over each other.

Just returned from a great stay at Cities Reference #238 in Rome.  The apartment was exactly as advertised, and had everything that we needed, plus a whole lot more -- there was so much space that we never even sat in the living room and spent most of our apartment-time on the lovely terrace.
We didn't cook but the kitchen was seemed very well stocked.  There were plenty of extra blankets and tons of books, maps, DVDs on the bookshelves.
We absolutely adored the neighborhood, and there's an endless number of restaurants, shops, bars and cafes right outside the door.
Finally, I can't say enough about how nice it was to work with Lune and Cities Reference.  Every email and question was answered promptly and kindly, and I will absolutely be using them again for future rentals.  Thanks so much for making it easy and pleasant!

Its all been said before- the apartment is superb in terms of layout, facilities, location in Rome and arriving/ leaving is made easy by Cities Reference. A choice of restaurants and bars are located within 10 minutes walk to cater for your re-fueling needs from simple pasta dishes to more complete dining out. All in all, fantastic value and far more comfortable and homely than a sterile hotel room.

While the apartment could use a coat of paint and better flooring, it was super comfortable, and has excellent appliances, especially AC, which helped in the intense heat.  Surprisingly quiet for a centrally located Roman flat, it was a cool haven when we had had enough of traipsing the streets.

Check-in was done in a very professional manner.  Good experience.

Out of all the places we have stayed on our almost 6 week holiday in Rome, this is our absolute favourite. We wanted an Italian experience and we felt like we got it here. We loved the charming lived-in feel, and the apartment had everything we needed, including a well equipped kitchen. We didnt use the air conditioning despite fairly hot days, as we were happy to use the shutters and open doors when needed - they worked well with no noise of traffic and still very private. The apartment is only a few minutes walk from Cavour metro station (but make sure you have a good map so it will be easy to find), and we kept ourselves supplied in lovely fresh food from a variety of small stores located close by. The apartment is central to most things (5 minutes to the Colloseum, 20-25 to the fountain of Trevi), and the area is very safe. The ONLY downside, was my children did say the single beds could have been more comfortable (but my husband and I found the double very comfortable). It is up 3 flights of stairs but it is so worth it - the apartment oozes charm. Mr Enzo was very helpful, and we found the whole experience wonderful. We would love to return.

Great apartment for a family of four. Great location in Rome. Spacious, quiet street, comfortable beds, extra pillows, 2 bathrooms, balcony, well equiped kitchen, air conditioning. Loved it. Perfect. Would highly recommend it!  I will return and stay there again.

We stayed for two weeks in May in this apartment in Rome. We are a family of four (2 adults, a teenage daughter and an 8 years old daughter). The apartment turned out to be excellent. It is situated in an excellent, slightly trendy neighbourhood, next to many restaurants and small boutiques, but nevertheless perfectly quiet. It is really less than 10 minutes walk to either of the following: Colosseum, Campidoglio, Santa Maria Maggiore, Piazza del Quirinale. Trolley bus number 117 connecting Lateran with Piazza del Popolo stops just aorund the corner. A small supermarket ist next door on Via del Boschetto, and a bigger one conveniently at Santa Maria Maggiore. The apartment is spacious, equipped with literally everything, comfortable and nice, including some antique paintings and furniture. All the appliances, kitchen gear and bath equipments worked perfectly. The balcony/terrace faces south onto a quiet backyard, with a view of green trees, no buildings. In the morning, we woke up to birds singing. The apartment is well kept and looks just as in the pictures in the internet. The only thing required was some wet wiping of the floors. The apartment was our safe haven for spending a quiet siesta after long walks in the city, which can be quite traffic-ridden at places, and crowded with tourists elsewhere. The central location allowed us to see many things without any effort, and to arrive at crowded places early in the morning, before the guided tour groups. If we were to go back to Rome, we would certainly consider staying here again.

We had an excellent stay and really enjoyed the apartment. Rome was hot (August) and the apartment had excellent air conditioning. I love the little balcony ( I drank coffee and read the paper most mornings). The apartment was spacious. We travelled with two teenagers. The furniture was very comfortable. The beds were great (the master bedroom has a memory foam mattress which was very nice).

The neighborhood was very quiet as was the apartment building itself. The location was great and a very easy walk to most many parts of Rome.

We had a fabulous stay in Rome and loved this apartment.

Just spent a week in via Cimarra. Family of 5 from London. Location in Monti couldn't be better...15/25 mins walk from most of the major areas of interest and 5 mins from the Coloseum and the Forum etc. Monti is a mix of Italians and tourists with a great atmosphere, good bars for the morning bombelone/latti machiatto and "eateries" for lunch/evening. Appartment is up 60 steps from street level to accommodation so keeps you fit after all that food! Appartment itself is spacious, could do with a bit of TLC....(satellite remote didn't work and a lick of paint would help) ...but does it matter? Rest of my family say it doesn't matter! Roman Reference staff were helpful and efficient before and during the holiday. Would we go back? Definately to Rome and definately to Monti and very probably to via Cimarra. Would be great if new arrivals got a "welcome pack" of essentials. Enjoy your stay!!!

Everything was just fine. My mother at 72 years was with us on vacation and had a problem with her hip, so it would have been nice with an elevator, but else we were fully satisfied with the apartement and its lokation.

Very clean, spacious, comfortable accommodations on a quiet street. Exactly as pictured - the balcony seemed even larger. Kitchen was very well equipped - enjoyed a hearty breakfast before heading out to explore. Great location for seeing all the magnificient sights of Roma! Spent a week here, and would definitely recommend it to friends.

We loved this big apartment in a great location in Rome. The apartment is very nicely furnished with original art on the walls and has everything you need. We stayed here with our 2 teenage children and found it to be very quiet and was close everything  so we were able to walk everywhere. The sunny terrace on the back is lovely .We will recommend it to our friends.

The apartment was warm, even at -4C and with a lot of snow in Rome. Clean and with all the appliances in full work. I would certainly suggest to include a true shower in the main bedroom bathroom - a minor change that would certainly enhance the experience of a true shower on very cold days... As for the lack of elevators - well, this is Rome and we wanted to stay in an old, charming apartment. Personell were helpful at our arrival, and all explanations about how the apartment works were quite clear. I would certainly recommend this apartment to other families such as ours- a couple with two adolescents.

We had a very enjoyable stay in this apartment. It was easy to get the keys and the apartment was in a great location close to food and tourists attractions. In fact we hardly needed to use public transport as we were able to walk everywhere. The apartment was exactly how it appeared on the website, clean with plenty of linen, towels etc. The only thing that could be improved is the wifi  - only plug in. Apart from this small improvement this apartment was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend it. If we ever return to Rome we would definitely use Roman Reference again.

Spent one week here sharing the apartment with two colleagues. The standard is as a good three-star hotel, towels etc were immaculate. There is a south-facing balcony with great afternoon sun. The apartment is very quiet, also at night, which is amazing in this noisy city! There is a well-equipped kitchen, so you can cook and make dinner for 6-8 people.
But the best part is the spacious living room. As I don´t like staying in small hotel rooms this was great, and we could also invite some friends for a pre-dinner drink. If the standard of the apartment had been luxury I had given it 5 stars.

The location is optimal, close to Termini station, excellent restaurants within 5 min walking (example: Via Panisperna: Tema (fish) , Carbonara (Roman rustique), Tavernelle (more formal, Roman). There are several good ones on V Boschetto too. There is a small center with a cafe, a gelateria two delicatessen (great prosciutto in the Calabrian one!) just down the road on Via Serpenti. This is la Dolce Vita!!!

We were very happy with our apartment while in Rome. We were able to walk to most of the major sites, which is a wonderful way to explore this amazing city. The apartment is comfortable, there is a grocery store just around the corner and a number of good restaurants close by. We made use of the Eat Rome app which did not disappoint. Monti is a good area to base yourself in while staying in Rome. We found our dealings with the staff at Roman References very straight forward and would make use of their services again.

My husband, and two adult children arrived to an immaculately clean and tidy apartment.  It was more than we expected. Spacious and airy with more than enough space for us ... we could have brought more family!  The kitchen was stocked and the bedrooms had plenty of linens and towels for us for the four nights we stayed.   It was so comfortable and all of us loved it!  Appreciated the washing machine, dishwasher and the hair dryer too!  The balcony and windows let us sit and look out over the adjoining apartments and businesses ... we really enjoyed the feeling of Rome!  Well located, we just had to walk out the building and we would be anywhere we needed to be within a just a short walk ... just a couple of minutes ... cafes and shops.  Easily accessible to the Metro also, so we could get to anywhere in Rome!  It was really fantastic and we would absolutely recommend this apartment and stay there again ourselves!  Writing about it now, I wish we were there again NOW!  Thanks for a great experience for our first trip to Italy!

Big apartment with all facilities. Nice to have a little balcony situated on the south. And nice to have a kitchen with an big table and apart of that a big sitting room. The apartment is situated on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator but if you are in Rome, you have to walk much so that 3 stairs isn't a problem.

Hello My wife, 2 daughters and I stayed in the above apartment for 9 days until last Saturday The apartment was, in every aspect, fantastic and ensured we had an amazing “Roman Holiday”. I will be recommending it to family and friends who are looking to visit Rome.

Ideal location. Roomy, comfortable and tons of essentials for cooking "at home". Check in was easy and we were allowed to keep our bags downstairs on the day of check out before our flight left. A bit noisy, but typical for Rome. Bring earplugs if you plan to sleep on the pull out couch!

The location of this apartment is excellent - centrally located, and in a fairly quiet neighbourhood. Its spacious, and bright, and the four of us were fairly comfortable in it. The beds were comfortable, there are lots of supplies (dishes, pots, towels, sheets, cleaning) However - the floors were filthy - they'd been swept, but not washed in a very long time. The microwave did not work. There was no television - this was reported but the satellite card never did work. I would book a place through Roman Reference again - the service was great - but I might not book via Cimarra again.
Manager Replies: Thank you very much indeed for your useful feedback! Microwave oven has been changed with a new one. TV satelite connection has been checked and restored. We're awfully sorry to read complains about the cleaning, we always use the same cleaning service and it's very rare for us to hear complaints. Roman Reference office is around the corner from the apartment, please immediately report if there are cleaning issues we will send somebody to fix the problem on the spot. Our most sincere apologies for the problems you've encountered, we really wish to work with you again and offer you a discount on your next visit. Thank you!

Wonderful space on a quiet street. Great for the six of us--four adults and two children. Rome was hot but the apartment stayed cool. We used the air conditioner a bit, but the breezes made it very comfortable. We walked everywhere from the apartment. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends

The apartment was everything we needed for our family of 6. The location was excellent - within walking distance of most sites, plus the Metro was only a 5 minute walk. Grocery and nice restaurants were also close by. The only challenge was the stairs - 54 of them! Would recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay while in Rome.

This apartment was stunning and more than big enough for 6. It was beautifully appointed with lovely furnishings. The kitchen was outstanding with everything you need (including TWO espresso makers!) and it was a 10 minute (maximum) walk from the Colosseum. We were shown the apartment by our extremely friendly trilingual host and found a beautiful bowl of fruit waiting for us. I cannot fault this excellent apartment.

Would have liked a brighter reading lamp, softer beds (too firm+hot), firmer pillows, more comfortable sitting chairs. Loved the well stocked kitchen, having the washing machine, and the touches of home, i.e. pictures on the wall, books, note pads, maps and location, we walked miles!!

Ideal situation to visit ancient Rome. One person of our party requested a mirror on the beroom with the two one-persons beds, this is only a suggestion.

This is a beautiful apartment, in a very heavily trafficked tourist part of town. Would recommend staying here for anyone that enjoys staying in nicely furnished apartments. High ceilings are great and there's so much space to relax after walking endlessly through Rome. I do however have a recommendation for the owners. If you're going to furnish a really refined apartment in the middle of Rome, take the time out to purchase some good Manchester and bed linen for the guests you have stay. It may seem trivial but these elements really brought down the experience. The ones provided were ugly and also polyester and utterly uncomfortable. It doesn't cost much to provide white cotton sheets and coverings and also plain coloured towels. So my advice, if your going to book the apartment, ask them if they're upgraded the sheets or bring your own, otherwise you will be uncomfortable.

A great apartment with fabulous amenities and close to the underground. It was great to have the basics like coffee and cleaning supplies provided. Was much larger than expected and really quiet at night. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and Gelateria's close by. Perfect for visiting ancient Rome.

Bonjour,

Merci.

Great apartment but would have been nice to have some recommendations for local restaurants posted in the unit. As well as directions on how to operate the dishwasher & washing machine. Also, a larger coffee maker would have been nice. The small espresso maker was leaking all over the place and only makes one small serving at a time. For an apt that sleeps 5 people, a larger coffee maker is a necessity. We loved the balcony, the location, and the quiet nature of the neighborhood. Thanks Paola for all of your help! We had a great time.
