Silvio has a wonderful apartment that is perfect for 1 to 4 persons.

Upon arrival at Via Crescenzio you will be greeted by a pair of massive wooden doors. They are three panel doors with some nice carvings located near the top and the top is approximately 14 feet high. When the doors open you will be in the main entryway. It is trimmed in decorative plaster, nero, giallo and carrara marble and contains 3 sets of double French doors with beveled glass and matching glass transoms. The doors in the center lead to a courtyard that would be beautiful in the summer and the ones on the left lead to the elevator. The elevator “shaft” with wrapping stairwell is decorative forged steel with wooden hand rails, carrara marble steps, risers and landings. The walls are plaster (nice trim work at the top) with giallo marble panels and nero marble base molding. It is a good example of fine marble work. The wall panels are rounded over at the corners (with no visible seam) and curved up to meet the Carrara marble window seals.

Just left out of the elevator at the end of the hall is Silvio’s apartment and it also has two large raised panel double doors (2’ by 8’). When you enter, you will be greeted by herringbone wood floors, plaster walls and one of the better jobs of real Venetian plaster I have seen (the stuff that looks like metal in the pictures). There is plenty of space and the pictures on his page detail the rest of the apartment well. The bathroom is actually prettier than the pictures with its green slate and upscale faucets. The shower is small, so don’t drop the soap. The balcony is perfect for smokers. It has a great view of Castle St Angelo and for once it was nice to have to smoke outside. All the appliances worked well, the internet was easily accessible and there were plenty of pots and pans to cook with. The only drawback was that it was so quite at night, we had to crack a window open to hear the city. There is nothing better than waking up in the middle of the night and realizing you are in ROMA.

We wanted to book it again for this November but he has it rented from mid September to the end of November. My wife was sick that we didn’t get it. We will stay there again and it will always be our first choice.

I wanted to write my review a long ago, but I was cought up with my work upon my return from Rome. I traveled to Rome after two weeks stay in London and Paris. The moment arrive at the apartment that I knew my stay in Rome will be a good one! Silvio the owner renovated his late grandmother's apt beautifully. At first, we were not quite sure how to operate our TV, but Silvio came to our apt showed us everything we need to know about the apt. I could tell that he really cares his clients to have a great vacation at his place. I highly recommend this place and I already recommended to my friends in US. Thanks Silvio. I rented this apartment in January 2011, it was great! I ve rented a lot of holiday rentals over the years in Europe, US and Canada and I have to say that is one of the most thoughtfully equipped apartments I've stayed in. It has absolutely everything you need and includes English directions for using everything . Very clean, bright, open and spacious, nice big bathroom shower stall, hair dryer, etc and the bed was very comfortable. There is an elevator if needed, but the stair case is nice ‘n wide, well lit. The caretaker was very sweet and showed us around the apartment. I appreciated the fast response from the owner; he also arranged a private driver to peak me up at the airport!. Know with this rental you are taken care of (everything worked perfectly!). We particularly liked being a part of the neighborhood. the grocery store is very close and has everything you need. Plus there are lots of great food markets to explore. There are several good cafes and gelato places just steps out the door. I would definitely come back to this apartment and suggest it to my friends.

Easy walking to most Vatican area sites. Metro stations (Lepanto and Ottaviano) approximately 10 minutes away; also adjacent to useful local bus routes (e.g. 492, 271, 81 and 23) that pass through/near Trastevere, the Pantheon, Forum and Colosseum precincts. The kitchen is stocked with most necessary utensils, crockery and cutlery - although there are numerous restaurants nearby for those not inclined to cook - and 2-3 supermarkets also within walking distance. A couple of issues with the hot water heater and door lock, however, requests for assistance received a prompt response (thank you Elena). Due to the length of stay, the odds of encountering such problems was probably increased. The unit is certainly pleasantly open and airy, however, the traffic noise may disturb light sleepers - despite the recently installed double-glazing - and the bedroom would benefit from the installation of blinds or drapes to reduce the light from traffic at night.

I am sorry that we didn't satisfy you 100%. I just need to say that:
1) if you would have slept with closed windows you can't hear anything at night! I don't know why you wanted to sleep with the windows open
2) we had asked you to keep the shutter open in the bathroom not to block the hot water, if you had done so, you would have had no problems!
3) our innovative lock at the door workd 100%, you probabily didn't use it properly.

I stayed in this apartment for 3 nights. It was very clean and tidy. The owner Silvio was extremely helpful and very prompt replying to my enquiries. The apartment is large and bright and has a terrific view. Silvio me notice that brand new windows were recently installed and the apartment is really silent! it is incredible, the apartment is perfect! We felt we were living in a proper Italian apartment, but it had all the modern facilities inside - even a dishwasher and washing machine. There were some nice restaurants nearby and the shops and bank were only 5 minutes walk away. The apartment is very close to the Vatican and to Piazza Navona; it was easy to walk around the city center. I would definitely recommend this apartment to others.

We (couple and three children) enjoyed our staying in the Sunny Holyday apartment very much. The apartment is perfectly located. It faces the Castel Sant’Angelo, both the St Peter square and the Rome historical center inside the walking distance. The apartment is very comfortable and was equipped by everything we needed (washing machine – very practical with children!). Both rooms have air conditioner (that was very useful for rather hot nights during our staying) Silvio (the apartment owner) met us on our arriving; he gave us all the explanations and we immediately felt ourselves very comfortable. We will recommend the Silvio’s apartment to our friends and of course we’ll be happy to stay there during our next visit to Rome.

The apartment was in a very good location-within walking distance to many attractions, especially The Vatican. We were greeted by Elena when we arrived, as the owner Silvio was away on vacation. She told us everything we needed to know. The beds were very comfortable, and the wireless internet was very helpful to keep up with news and people from. Silvio even sent us 2 bottles of wine! We met him on the last day, and he is a true gentleman, and wants his guests to be comfortable. The only downside to the apartment was some of the noise coming from the busy street below, but we managed to get used to it the longer we were there. For the reasonable price we paid, and the way we were treated, along with the convenient location, we would highly recommend this apartment!

I just want to let everybody know that since sept 10 I installed some special windows against the street noise.
At the moment the apartment is in fact classified on the web site as extremely silent.
you will be surprised of the silence in my apartment and I assure you that you will love it.
