La casa del Porto: Maratea Lejlighed #100MARA

An ancient house, just on the harbor of Maratea. A small, cozy lodging in front of the sea, with a wonderful view on the boats, the living square and the old town of Porto. 

The house, fully equipped and finely furnished, sleeps four people in the two bedrooms upstairs (one with a lovely balcony on the harbour) and, in case, other 2 people in the living room ground floor (sofa bed). The house has a kitchenette, tv, two bathrooms, washing machine, and air conditioning. 
A shop just next door, to buy food, newspaper and everything needed. Bars and restaurants are at walking distance. The beach of "Darsena" at 5 minutes walking. Really, a unique location for a holidays in the lovely town of Maratea.

Maratea is a town of great environmental value and one of the most important Italian seaside resorts. Here, the 1000 metres hight mountains descends to the emerald green sea and the coast is a true wonder of nature: channels, sand bars and inlets enriched by small beaches that are each different. Maratea offers the vitality of uncontaminated nature, which is surprisingly topped by a tiny city and grouping of houses nestled among the trees: the old town, 300 meters above sea level, is one of the most characteristic of the entire Tyrrhenian coast, with its narrow streets, flowered balconies, red roofs,different coloured walls and churches with tiled cupolas; a plenty of shops, little bars and restaurants enliven the squares,creating a sense of warm and discreet hospitality. 
Just as the Christ On Sugar Loaf Mountain crowing Rio de Janeiro,the white statue of Christ in Maratea rises above the village and the coast. A 45 trek will take you over the top of the Monte san Biagio, where you will admire the breathtaking panorama from the foot of the huge statue. The climb is challenging,but the view is unequalled. (anyway, the statue is reachable by car, and a shuttle service is available) 
Maratea is not only about the sea. Just a few kilometers away are the heights of the Nazional Park of the Pollino or Monte Sirino,which are ski destinations in the winter and in the summer are lovely trekking ,hiking, rafting destinations. Amazing trips in the surroundings are the Certosa di Padula (75 km) and the town of Rivello (35 kms)
