We booked the apartment on the first floor for a week-long stay for three couples. We could not have picked a better place. The three double bedrooms were comfortable and individual. well furnished and maintained. We picked this apartment for it separate living area. to enable us all to spend time together without having to use each others' bedrooms. This was comfortable, with two 3-seater sofas, as well as four wooden chairs (around the dining table). The kitchen area is only suitable for one or two people to work at a time; this would not be the place to stay if you wanted to host dinner parties. For our purposes it was fine, since we ate only breakfasts in the apartment.
Of other features, the oustanding one is the location. The apartment is in a quiet street but within ten minutes' walk from the Colosseum and its Metro stop. This was ideal for sightseeing. There were many restaurants and cafes in the area; thanks to Federico for the helpful recommedations.
Thanks to Federico and Paola for their hospitality in providing this comfortable place, and to Rada for her warm welcome and diligence in maintaining it.

The Secret Garden worked very well for my family. During a four week stay in Rome we had all of my daugthers and their families (with our young grandchildren) visit at various times. The three bedrooms, three baths and other amenities worked very well for us. The private garden/patio was a particular favorite. The staff (Emerson and Wesley) were very helpful and extremely responsive in smoothing out the little bumps that occurred. Overall my family had a great experience in Rome and greatly enjoyed our stay at the Secret Graden apartment.

I'm so pleased our family of five decided to stay in this apartment in Rome. The location was excellent and my dad was thrilled to be right near the Colosseum. The apartment itself was so spacious and well-equipped. It consists of a living area and kitchen, two main bedrooms, both with en-suite - one of which is in a granny flat beside the wonderful outdoor deck - and another area which features a bathroom and upstairs bedroom with enough beds for four (two of which were mainly only suitable for children). Everything we needed was within reach and Federico and his staff were accommodating to all our needs. If looking for somewhere to eat we really enjoyed Ristorante Al Gladiatore by the Colosseum. It was a little expensive but easily the best food we had in Italy. A wonderful stay - thank you!

This spacious apartment in Rome is well situated on a quiet street close to the Colosseum. It was handy to go home at lunch time to escape the crowds and heat in a cool quiet air-conditioned space. We were 6 but it can easily sleep 8. Everything we needed was there including dishes, wifi, lovely garden retreat terrace, even umbrellas and a cork screw. Lots of delicious reasonable restaurants and markets close by and beds and pillows very comfortable.

We stayed at this apartment on Via Capo d' Africa in the fall of 2010. We were 6 adults, and it was perfect for us.
The rooms are large and the beds are very comfy.
The kitchen area is small but has everything that you need to make a meal and every thing is very clean, the terrace area is such a nice place to have a meal and or a glass of wine.
The area surrounding the apartment is very nice.
You are very close to the subway, bars, restaurants and grocery store and of course the Colosseo,The Forum,The Hill of the Seven Kings...it is a wonderful area to live in while you are visiting Roma.
We are now planning a trip back to Rome in 2013 and are hoping to be able to book the apartment again!
The owner is very kind and helpful.
All in all a wonderful place to stay.

The apartment exceeded our expectations. The location was wonderful, and it was clean and spacious. The two bathrooms really helped us get ready in the mornings. Federico was extremely helpful in getting us settled. I'm typically hard to please, but we found our accommodations to be wonderful and we'd definitely recommend it to friends or family. We were a group of 7 and it was wonderful to be able to relax together in the evenings after a long day of sightseeing.

Das Appartment hält, was es im Internet verspricht: Es war sehr sauber und bot der gesamten Familie (2 Erwachsene, 3 Kinder: 10/15/17 und zwei Großeltern) viel Platz und Komfort. Die Einrichtung war sehr geschmackvoll, und gemütlich - ein Appartment zum Wohlfühlen! Auch die Lage war perfekt, der Empfang und die Betreuung sehr nett (grazie Frederico!).

Wir waren mit 4 Erwachsenen und 3 Jugendlichen in der Wohnung und hatten alle genügend Platz und Rückzugsmöglichkeiten. Mit Geschirrspülmaschine UND Waschmaschine perfekt ausgestattet. Nur wenige MInuten zum Collosseum, Bäcker, Supermarkt und Metro. Gute Restaurants und Kneipen direkt um die Ecke. Sehr sympathische Vermieter, die sich sofort um alles kümmern. Die Terrasse ist ein idyllischer und ruhiger Ort - sogar MItte Oktober. Wir würden jederzeit diese Wohnung wieder mieten!!

Excellent apartment! What a wonderful way to enjoy Rome and end the day in this characteristic air-conditioned apartment. The terrace was an excellent bonus! We were 6 adults and 5 young children and had plenty of space for all. It is so close to the sites that we were able to come back during the hottest parts of the day with the children if needed and not feel like we were taking too much time travelling about. This apartment made the holiday! Would definitely recommend it and would love to stay here again if coming back to Rome! Thank you!

We did not stay in the Via Capo D'Africa apartment as the owner switched us to an apartment on S.S. Quattro. I think that he could have handled the switch better - he was not forthright about the reason he made the switch as first and when called back, he explained his actions better. Overall the apartment that we ended up staying in was very nice in the end and we enjoyed our time in Rome. I just felt there should have been a bit more honesty about what he wanted to do initially.

we thought it was a very good **** apartment.
To make it 5* it would need improvements to the kitchen which would be better with more built in cupboards and work surface.The table is too big in such a small area.
Other suggestions are a Dishwasher and a CD player.
The balcony is very agreeable and even better in warmer weather and the bedroom beyond it a very pleasant quiet spot for any family who had children with them.

We shared the apartment with 2 other couples (6 people in total) and we were very pleased with the accommodation. The apartment is well located on a side street, very close to the Colosseum. The apartment was very clean throughout, and the bathrooms have been recently renovated and were very functional. The bedrooms and bedding were all very comfortable, although one of the bedrooms was somewhat noisy (the other two were very quiet). The kitchen, while small, was very well equipped and contained everything required for a short stay. The garden terrace off the kitchen was a particularly nice feature. Our stay was most enjoyable and we would definitely recommend this apartment to others.

While we were a little surprised by the set up in this apartment (extremely small kitchen and not-so-large living/dining room either), it still was an excellent choice for us because of the terrace, where we spent all our time. For people used to walking, this apartment allows you to visit everything without ever using public transportation. The apartment is well equipped and suggestions from prior rentors help in choosing restaurants and finding your bearings - read them ! The mattress in the front bedroom could use a refresher. Overall, given that the weather was very nice during the week we were in Rome (in September), we totally enjoyed this apartment.

Génial !! Nous étions 8 copines, et nous aurions pu en amener encore 4 sans être trop serrées ! L'appartement est très bien situé, à 5 mn du colisée, du métro, et des arrêts de bus. Mais il est surtout magnifique ! la déco est soignée, il y a plein de petits détails agréables (séches cheveux, guides touristiques dans plusieurs langues à disposition...), et la terrasse est très très agréable, surtout en plein mois d'août !

The apartement is in a nice, safe neighbourhood and superbly located for the Roman sites. It has heaps of character. The A/C was a blessing after a sweltering week in Tuscany. The bedrooms are spacious, but the beds in the front and annex rooms could do with being replaced. All in all, though, an excellent apartment.

Brilliant location,brilliant apartment,loved the terrace area.Federico was very helpful he even came out one evening when I locked us out of the Orange room..When we arrived there was a pie waiting for us ,this was a lovely touch.There were three couples in our party and we had plenty of room.I would recommend this apartment without hesitation.

l'appartement n'est pas mal, mais nous avons eu un probleme avec le propriétaire. En effet il devait nous renvoyer de l'argent que nous avions oublié dans l'appartement, or nous n'avons jamais reçu cet argent, je trouve ça très malhonête de la part du propriètaire.Réponse du propriétaire: le propriétaire a gardé l'argent laissé dans l'appartement pour un remboursement partial pour domages fait à l'armoire dans la chambre jaune.

The apartment suited us perfectly. For us it was excellent with no luxury, but that we didn´t seek for. It is cosy, clean and tidy, well equipped and close to Colosseo, Foro Romano and the metro. It felt good to get "home" after a day of experiencing Rome. We were three families visiting, consisting of 4 adults, 4 teenagers and one 12 year old and we were all more than content. Thank you!

What a pleasure to stay in such a lovely apartment! It was clean, roomy & convenient. You will really feel comfortable and "at home" when you stay here! Paola & Federico were such lovely and gracious hosts who truly went out of their way to help us and make our time in Rome happy & memorable. HIGHLY recommended!

The perfect location for our Rome vacation. The apartment is huge, the description doesn't do it justice. You could easily sleep 10 people; we had 4 adults and could not have been more comfortable. The neighborhood is great. Lots of wonderful places to eat, I highley recommend Hostaria Isidoro. Our hosts were very nice, even brought us a home-made pie on our first day. When we return to Rome it will be to this apartment.

The apartment was better than expected. We were a family of five plus two grandpartents. The outdoor terrace is charming. The extra bedroom across the terrace gave the grandparents extra privacy. Mrs. Funari-Pace was a wonderful help. We will definately look here first when we visit Rome again.
