Our family really enjoyed the stay in trastevere! Some of the nicest restaurants are close to this place. the roof terrace was really nice and the whole apartment was more charming than in the pictures. Gugliemo & friends were really helpful with everything. It was also really handy to use the trams on viale de trastevere when visiting the sights... Thank you for the nice stay!

Very interesting "authentic or rustic" apartment. Located near nice neighborhood with fancy restaurants, bars, and shops.

We loved staying at this apartment and it was certainly big enough for the three of us and had everything we needed for cooking or relaxing, the beds were really comfortable too.  The highlight however was the wonderful terrace where we spent all our time when not sightseeing..  As other reviewers have said it is quaint but that's what we wanted - a real feel of a traditional apartment in Trastevere. The surrounding area is good too full of winding streets, lovely restaurants, bakeries etc but the street itself is very quiet.
The apartment is close to the centre about 15 mins walk but we tended to get the H bus or no. 8 tram 2 mins away to save our legs for the sights! If you have time whilst in Trastevere catch the 115 to the top of Gianicolo (or Janiculum)  hill for fantastic views of Rome and a cocktail then walk back down taking in war monuments, gardens and a massive fountain. Not to be missed is also the Domus Aurea (Nero's Palace) but you do need to book in advance, it's near the Colosseum.
Thanks to Lavinia for meetings us, showing us where everything was and for giving advice when needed. We will definitely book with Cities Reference again and stay at this fantastic apartment if we return to Rome.

We enjoyed this quiet, little apartment with charming patio as our home base for exploring Rome during a heatwave this summer.  Thankfully, due to the wall air conditioning unit and a fan upstairs we were able to sleep, though with temperatures over 100 F (37 C) every day, it was still warm in the bedroom at night.  The bed was comfortable.  The shower and bathroom were quite small but worked fine for the two of us.  The apartment is conveniently located within the Trastevere neighborhood and happily away from the busiest, touristy streets.  There were some issues with light bulbs, the washing machine door, and sugar ants in the bathroom when we arrived, but Guglielmo was very responsive and helpful via email to assist us with resolving these issues and Lavinia kindly accommodated our early check-in and check-out times.  Thanks again!

Rundum also alles ok! Danke Gugliemo und Lavinia!

Super charming "retro" apartement with a perfect partly shaded terrace (nice when it's 33 degrees). Location is the best, near to everyting. Not much space inside, but who needs that?
Small things to improve the stay:
- Fix the front door lock, it's very hard to handle (lubrication?). Same with terrace lock.
- make sure that all light-bulbs works.
Thank you very much for a wonderful week in rome. Must do this again!!!

The place is situated in the best part of the town and it is very "real" /old-school place. If you want a true experience of living in Rome, this is a place to go. Beautiful terrace, small kitchen and beautiful upstairs with basically two rooms and bathroom. The bathroom is the only setback of this apartment as it is extremely small.

My husband and I loved staying here. The location is great with lots of little places to eat and close to the monuments without being in the middle of the tourist crowd. The patio is a nice quiet spot to sit in the morning. You are right around the corner from a fabulous bakery innocento

The apartment and his location is excellent.
The terrace is really fantastic!
The person who welcomed us was very friendly, correct and helpful.
All our questions were solved as soon as possible.
A small problem is the equipment of the kitchen.
Our suggestions: wine glasses(!!!), a decent bread knife, a dishcloth, matches for the oven (as only the grill is electric) and something to make coffee (as the Italian coffeemaker is very small...)
We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment and would recommend it highly!
Owner Comments: Thank you SO much for your feedback, we have added all you mentioned was missing.
We really look fwd to accommodating you again in our apartment in Rome!

Great location to venture out into everything Rome has to offer and close to all the bars and restaurants in Trastevere itself. The apartment is great for two but would not recommend staying with more than that (also be aware that the bathroom is very tiny). The double bed is great though. Best feature of the apartment is absolutely the terrace! Our contact with Gugliemo went very smoothly and he was very eager to help us out with extra supplies for the apartment and also gave some great tips for exploring Rome (thanks Gugliemo for that, we really enjoyed our visit to the Macro museum!) Would definitely recommend this apartment for your stay in Rome, and otherwise just ask Gugliemo for his other properties around Rome as he is running a business in renting out apartments

We had a wonderful stay in Rome, Apartment was in need of a bit of T.L.C and lacked some cooking equipment.   However it was clean, beds were comfortable and we loved the quirkiness and outside space.  So we would give it a 4.   Would book apartment again

The location is in a quieter, more residential  area of Trastevere, but still close to shops, restaurants, cafes, etc.  The terrace is lovely - it's on an interior courtyard and faces many other charming terraces.  The apartment is furnished simply but adequately.  As others noted the bathroom is small and it could have been cleaner upon our arrival.  Checkin process was fine.

Well placed apartment with lovely terrace, very quiet. Beds extremely comfortable, even the sofa bed!  Trastevere is a wonderful district, and this apartment is also extremely close to the bridge Palatine to cross for the Coliseum etc, and the Sisto bridge for Campo di Fiore, Pantheon etc etc, in other words, perfectly placed! One tiny negative, there was only one teaspoon and not many pans etc, so cooking for a family would have been a bit awkward, but Maria the keyholder very helpful and would recommend this apartment.

Owner Comments: Thank you so much for your very useful feedback!

We are going to add pots and pans and silverware immediately if they are missing, you should have told us right away, are you sure you looked for them in the right place? The pots and pans are in the cupboard by the door window leading to the terrace and the silverware on the cupboard on the other side of the room, by the sofa bed, in one of the drawers.

We'll look into it immediately

Thank you so much for your feedback!

Perfect for our use; active family with two kids (12 and 14) who like to make some meals at home. Very sentral with lots of little shops and restaurants close by. We walked to most of the attactions, such as Colosseum and Pantheon. Also very close to bus, tram and taxi stop. Nice beds, tiny bathroom, unsecured steps might not be suitable for small kids, fast wi-fi, and a lovely terrace where we spent alot of time :-) We really liked the place

Nice compact appartment in a medieval house. Clean and cosy. The terrace is super, it is nice to have there a breakfast or dinner. Thanks a lot for Roman Refererence and Maria for the nice wellcoming too :-)

Perfectly situated in Trastevere, near to the city centre, vatican, public transport etc.
Nice, quiet neighborhood, lots of restaurants around. Wonderful bakery and good supermarket only 5 min away. Charming little apartment with a wonderful terrace, it only needs a little bit more of cooking and kitchen equipment, but the owner is renewing the apartement at the moment: we got a brand new sofa and gas oven! So all together we can recommend this apartment!

Great location, and a very charming apartment.  The terrace is lovely and the beds are very comfortable with plenty of extra sheets/blankets/towels.  It has all the amenities you need: kitchen, washer, air conditioning.

The apartment was in a great location and we were able to walk to practically all the sights of Rome.
Steps up to and inside the apartment were a challenge as they were steep but, thankfully, only one flight.
The outside space was great and we breakfasted there each morning, also great for drying laundry..
Basic apartment but still charming as it felt really rustic and authentic.
Having two separate bedrooms was ideal for us and the beds were comfortable.
The key holder who greeted us was pleasant and took time to explain everything to us.
The agency was very helpful by allowing us to leave our luggage at the apartment as we had a late evening flight.
Supermarket etc within five minutes.
Enjoyed our stay In Rome Trastevere and glad to recommend this apartment.

This apartment is in a great position in Rome near a fantastic bakery and lots of good cafes and restaurants. We walked to all the sites - nothing more than a 30 minute walk. The outside area is lovely. However, the flat is very small inside and the stairs are dangerous. There is no rail to hold on to. I fell and ended up on hospital. I was very lucky - no major damage done. But the stairs need a rail added to the stairs.
Owner Comments: We're terribly sorry about this. We have checked the stairs and there is a handrail outside and in the inner stairs you can hold on to the central column. What you have to pay attention to is water, the bathroom upstairs is just beside the stairs, if you don't close the box taking the shower water will first gather on the floor and then start dripping on the stairs. We did find the stairs all wet of water right after your incident. Water makes treated wood very slippery and is a hazard. The shower box must be kept closed at all times during shower.

The apartment was in a really good location in Rome, central to everything. It was nice to be able to sit outside on the patio, really enjoyed that. The stairs going up to the apartment are pretty steep, my mom is in her mid 70's and then the bathroom and bedrooms are on the second floor of the apartment so she just had to be extra careful. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay in Rome and the apartment.

This apartment exceeded our expectations, we enjoyed every minute of our holiday. It really felt like being in a quiet village while you were home and it only took a short walk to get in the heart of nightlife and fun.
Totally recommended!

The location was excellent.  We were able to travel to all important sights by foot and the area was fun.

We have stayed in Trastevere before and so understand that this is an old part of Rome and that the modern gadgets and services available to us in our home city are not to be expected in old Italy.  We are happy to experience a different way of living and quite enjoy the vibe of Trastevere.

The lady who greeted us, although extremely pleasant, did not have much information to share about the area.  We have used Cities Reference for a few years now and have found the best part of the experience is the knowledge provided by the people who rent the accomodations- making it a very different experience than staying in a hotel.  This was not the case.  We arrived, were given keys and that was the end.

The stars given was for location and the fact that it had a deck- which was lovely to enjoy in the evening and early mornings!
Owner Comments: Hi Thor, we are so sorry to hear about this. Message to you and to everybody else coming to my apartment, when you place the booking you will always receive my personal details, I don't personally check you in, but I live and work near the apartment. Please let's ensure next time we meet each other! I would love to share all I know about the area and provide all the gadgets you may need at home.
I really hope to work with you again!

Location was excellent.  The terrace was the hightlight.
Although the apartment was clean...it could have been better.
The bathroom is very small.
The living room has only the sofa and there is no extra seating (as the picture shows).   It is not really a sitting area unless you want to read.  The TV was upstairs.
The smaller bedroom had an iron board.
The stove is very old.  We used it to make coffee.
The second bedroom was not made up....We then asked for linens...The linens were delivered but surprised when the linens were just left.  Not really an issue but expect ed that all the rooms would be made up prior to arrival.

If i can suggest that someone at cities reference review this property.  It is in a good location.  I was planning on renting for next year for one month but need to reconsider.

Owner Comments: Hi Mary thanks a lot for your precious tips, we have fixed the issues. Our apologies for the second bedroom not made up, we were under the understanding that you were going to use only the master bedroom. Apologies the beds haven't been made when the extra sheets were delivered, we'll ensure this doesn't happen again.
