October 2012
This apartment was just about perfect for our holiday in Rome. The whole experience starting from dealing with Roma Reference for the booking, pre-holiday contact with Vito, the representative of the property, meeting up with Vito for the keys handover on arrival to handing back at the end of the stay was smooth and easy. Both Roma Reference and Vito were easy to contact and deal with, which made the whole transactional side of the experience a pleasure. There was a warm welcome from Vito and a bottle of wine and fruit juice awaiting us on arrival! Vito explained everything and has also provided a very helpful list of handy hints relevant to the area and other guests have left a collection of leaflets and business cards for local shops, attractions and restaurants etc.
Now the review of the property. It’s a bright, traditional first floor apartment spread over five rooms (counting the entrance hall as one room) with plenty of space. One bed is a “normal” Queen sized bed, the other is a large sofa bed. Both are comfortable. One of the features of the property is that it’s part of the building adjoining the Church of Santa Prassede. It has a private shared courtyard and the internal rooms have beautiful exposed wooden beams. The courtyard isn’t suitable for sitting out in because it’s too small, but it’s separated from the street by a huge lockable iron gate, so security is of no concern. On the subject of security, the location is quite busy and quite near Termini but we felt secure all of the time.
The street that the bedroom and sitting room windows open on to can be quite noisy at time; there are several (very good) restaurants and bars on it, so you may want to bear this in mind if you’re sensitive to noise. I use ear plugs and had a great night’s sleep every night. My wife doesn’t and found it noisy on a few nights but Rome is a busy city and you’re likely to get this pretty much anywhere. On balance we didn’t find it a problem.
The property has pretty much all of the features you would expect; gas cooker (no oven, though), microwave with grill (no toaster, though) fridge with a small freezer, excellent internet and wi-fi, a small TV (not that we used it at all) shower (no bath) toilet and bidet. There’s plenty of storage all over the apartment so even four people would have no trouble storing all their stuff and would have plenty of room. One factor to bear in mind; the bathroom is off one of the bedrooms so two couples sharing would have to fight over the master bedroom ;) As well as all the essential pots, pans, cups, glasses, plates etc the kitchen also has a small stock of things like olive oil, balsamic etc which is a nice touch if you plan on doing some home cooking. We bought pasta, cook-in sauces, freshly baked bread and wine from the local supermarket a few nights which helped with the budget!
The location is about 10 mins walk from Termini but experience showed us that it’s easier to walk 5 mins to Cavour for Metro line B (though getting from Cavour back to the apartment involves climbing a steep hill, so bear that in mind if you have luggage) and less than 5 mins to Vittorio Emanuele for line A. It’s then about 20-30 mins from Colloseo (line B) or Spagna (line A) into the centre of Rome.
There are multiple shops and restaurants and even a bakery within a very short distance of the apartment. We bought fresh croissants for breakfast and bread/cheese for packed lunches from the bakery on Via Di Santa Martino ai Monti (go out the gate, turn right and right again and its 25m down the street) and ate at Hangzhou Chinese (and Japanese) and the Nipotino del Solitario pizzeria on the same street and both were excellent. We also found a superb authentic Indian (run by an Indian family) The Sitar (Indian) next to the Cavour Metro on Cavour.
So, all-in-all a near perfect holiday experience for us and comes highly recommended. We would certainly stay here again and advise friends and family to do so.

Outstanding experience! Great apartment in Rome! Clean, beautiful and convenient. Authentic medieval house which is a part of St. Prassede Church. Great wooden ceilings. A good combination of antiques and modern design. Few steps to Santa Maria Maggiore. 5 minutes by foot to Termini station that makes it convinient to travel around Italy. 15 minutes to Colloseum and Piazza Barberini. You have everything you need for short and long stay in Rome. Free WIFI. Personal thanks to Vito who tried to do everything to make our vacation in Rome unforgettable!

Cordiali Saluti Sophie & Claus.

Great apartment and good location to explorer the city! Conveniently close to Termini station, but not too close to meet all those strangers around.
We are family of 4 and kids had enough space in the apartment. Vito the manager was very friendly and helpful.
The only backdrop was tight shower. Everything else was perfect.

Excellent apartment! The photos don't do justice to this lovely hidden gem in Rome! It is very conveniently located near the main station Terminus, and well-connected to the city center.
Vito, the manager was immensely helpful as well and made our stay and exit so easy and smooth!
The only downside in the apartment is the lack of airconditioning in the bedroom which made it rather uncomfortable given that we traveled to Rome in August in the peak of the heat wave!

Very happy with the accommodation (and Vito has been a wonderful host). The apartment looks better than in the photos and we had a pleasant stay. When we were reading some reviews, people we complaining about the noise, I have to say that even being sensitive to the outside noise, did not experience any disturbance at night. It was one of the best decisions to rent this accommodation as it is very well located. Main sights were close and Termini station is only a few minutes away. Besides, Vito explained where to find nice fruit and vegetables market, where you can find stuff quite cheap for your breakfast. At the apartment we have found everything we needed and it was very clean. Only one thing I could point out that even though shower was clean, it could have used some bleach and chloride cleaning.
Value for money and we will definitely stay there again when visiting Rome.
Cheers Vito for a very nice accommodation.

My husband and I stayed at this apartment for a week. It was a wonderful experience! The apartment had everything we could possibly need. The location is ideal. All the main tourist sights are close by and basically at walking distance. The termini station is at 5 min walking distance. Even though there is a pub underneath and restaurants close by we were never disturbed by any noise. Internet worked perfectly. The apartment itself is really lovely with very pretty furniture. We found Vito to be a very warm and friendly person and it was a pleasure to chat with him. He also made us feel very well taken care of.

I spend amazing time in Rome and comfortable staying in this apartment. There are charming surroundings and good connection with other place of city. Just there are a little bit noisy from the street because of few close restaurants, but it does play if windows of apartment are shut. I would back here and I recommend it to others.
If you cook by yourselves, I recommend close small local Italian shops to buy bred, pasta, meet, wine and alia instead of supermarkets and local market, that is mentioned in description of this apartment, because of sellers, where atmosphere are not real Italian.

Location: excellent; within 20-25 min walking you can reach any historical sites and other interesting spots.
As we enjoy walking, we actually didn't use metro except to reach Vatican. If you prefer to use metro note that the apartment is located close to two metro stations (Termini and Cavour). The apartment is situated in the small street away from heavy traffic.
In the apartment all the amenities were great, apartment itself is very comfortable, also kitchen was very well equipped. Our host Vito met as at the apartment and was very helpful showing us everything and provided us with lot of useful information.
When we decide to visit Rome next time, we will book this apartment for sure.

Verder bushalte vlakbij. Wij hebben ervan genoten. Aanrader!
PS Keyholder zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

March 2012
My wife and I visited Rome in March 2012 and rented this property for 9 days - the apartment itself is perfect - Vito met us at the apartment and showed us everything (very nice guy). The rooms were sizable - the kitchen was just refurbished and internet wifi installed (5 days before our visit). No complaints at all - there was some minor noise from the bar below the apartment, but it was St Patricks day so to be expected for Irish bar. The location is great - close to several restaurants and about 10 minutes to Cavour metro or 15 minutes to Termini station/metro. All the amenities were fine - the shower, bed, etc. Having a functioning kitchen was a great help - there are several groceries nearby. The apartment itself shares walls with the Santa Prassede Basilica, which has wonderful mosaics that you shouldnt miss. I can't say enough about the quality of this apartment - i would rent it again on my next visit. The online photos and videos are very helpful. Cities Reference (Roman Reference) is great to work with as well.
