Apartment Owner's Notes and Description
This beautiful apartment of 50 sqm has been just renovated in February 2015 to offer the most comfortable stay in a modern, clean and silent environment, the main color scheme is white to provide a relaxing oasis after a day of sightseeing in the Eternal City. Perfectly located in the soul and heart of the Esquilino Area, just a few minutes walk from the Colosseum and Roman Forum, St. Mary Major Basilica, Monti and the San Lorenzo Restaurant Area. Esquilino quarter is also a meeting place for ethnic groups of different habits and customs that in any case are perfectly in accordance with the ancient traditions of Rome.
The apartment is located on the fourth floor of an historical building from about 100 years ago'. It consists of a living room with dining area and sofa bed, fully equipped kitchen to prepare excellent Italian dinners with products certainly bought in one of the many italian traditional open markets in the area ,1 bedroom, 1bathroom with large shower. The place has air conditioning and independent heating, washing machine, microwave, hairdryer, free wifi, all linens and towels included.
The flat is in a strategic position because it is 10 minutes walk from the main railway station in the centre of Rome and from the homonymous Metro Station Termini . Furthermore at a distance of a few meters from the place you can find  2 other metro stations: Vittorio Emanuele Metro Station and Manzoni Metro Station . This allows the guest to move very easily all around Rome and to reach the historical centre in a very fast and comfortable way. If you are a good walker you can also easily reach the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the very heart of historic Rome with a nice 25 minutes walk.

This apartment was great!  It was out first stop in Italy, and we could not have been happier!  Everything was clean and ready for us-- seeing as to how it is hard to keep white furniture and white things (in general) clean, this is saying something!  It was a great space for me and my wife, and is very conveniently located in the middle of everything! ~10 min walk from the Colosseum, and only a few minutes' walk from the metro/subway.

The host was awesome, very hospitable.  He even had a list of recommended places to visit, and good places to eat (this was very important to us).  Additionally, he offers his services as a private guided tour of Rome (for a fee) if needed.

In all, it was a lovely experience, and we would definitely rent again!

Getting there was a little confusing since we didn't know which side of the Metro station we came out of. Best way of getting there, especially with luggage, is to take the metro to Vittorio Emmanuele, make sure to exit at the Piazza Dante and then walk to the left of the OVS shop at street level to reach Via Foscolo in less than 2 blocks. It's very easy to get around via this metro. It's also an easy walk (10 min) to the Colloseum.
The owner Giovanni was friendly and spoke great English. He brought a friend along. The apartment is nice and spacious, but less so with the sofa bed pulled out obviously. The sofa bed was quite difficult to set up for us- needed to use some force, so it's probably a good idea to get the owner's help before he leaves. The TV there also didn't work, but we found that out only afterwards. The main bedroom is very nice and modern with its own TV, which worked well and sometimes had English programs showing. The bathroom was also spacious, with a great hairdryer, plenty of toilet paper (a good thing since there's no housekeeping), some leftover shower gel, and a great clothes dryer rack tucked away behind the shower area. We used this to dry our clothes outside on the balcony. The washing machine came in very handy! Need to have your own detergent though. Some minor issues with the bathroom... such as a broken toilet seat, but the owner told us that beforehand. The toilet tissue holder is also a bit loose. The sliding door doesn't lock properly- if you turn the lock, then close the door, it works, but then it's fidgety to unlock. The shower temperature can fluctuate and be a bit difficult to control, so let it run a little and stabilize. The kitchen has all the essentials, like kettle and cups etc. The freezer is good, but the fridge is not too cold. The wifi is good, but the little netbook provided in the apartment is not useable. The wall at the window just inside the front door had some deep cracks- this is only a cosmetic issue, but it was not pointed out to us at the start (it was easily obscured with the curtains down) and we were worried the owner might think we caused it. Lastly, the front door is hard to open! We always need to try it a few times- have to turn right, then turn further right and push at the same time. All the issues mentioned are relatively minor and did not affect our good impression of the place.

The apartment has good security- another key is needed to get through the front door of the building. There's a small elevator that can fit about 1 person and 2 pieces of luggage at a time, but it does its job. The surroundings is OK- there were a couple of empty bottles near the curb, but it's not filthy. The shops around the apartment seem mainly to belong to Asian migrants, which might make some people nervous, but we did not feel uneasy. All in all, a very good stay for us, quite good value for money!

A really nice apartment with everything that you need ( including wifi and a laptop ! ) Nearest metro stop is a five minute walk and one stop down from Termini station. A supermarket is 10 minutes away,  tho' there is a small shop just across the road. Perhaps the apartment's  street isnt the most attractive in Rome but this apartment is outstanding value.

Ruhige, schöne, zentrale Wohnung, netter Vermieter. Hätte die Küche etwas mehr Geschirr, wäre die Wohnung top.

Very comfy and clean apartment super close to the metro. Many thoughtful touches to help a visitor to the Eternal City feel welcome and confident.  If you are looking for a trendy, posh area, this isn't it; however, if you want to feel close to the life of the city, and are curious how the regular people live, you will like this chance to see it close up. We would happily stay there again and for much longer, hopefully.

We enjoyed our stay at this apartment in Rome. The apartment was very close to the metro station and had everything we needed. We will definitely consider staying here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 24 Via Foscolo. Our transactions with the owner were brief and efficient, and we didn’t find anything more amiss than an intermittent towel warmer. The apartment was cozy, warm and clean, and had all the amenities to make us completely comfortable during our week visit in November. The location was an easy walk to the city center and all of the major attractions, helpful for a first time visitor like myself, although the Metro was only about a block away, convenient for our excursions to outlying attractions. We didn't use the kitchen much, as we tried to sample as much of the local Italian cuisine as we could, and we generally found our restaurant destinations to be out of the neighborhood, but we found breakfast a real delight nearby at Panella, an excellent bakery at 54 Via Merulana. All in all a good experience for us, and a good value.

We loved the apartment. Very clean, well equipped and conveniently located, you can walk to Termini station and to the Colosseum in 10 min. There is also a metro station 2 blocks away. Gianni was very organized and informative, be gave us helpful suggestions. Just do not eat around the touristy areas, especially around Pantheon--overpriced and not good. We followed Gianni's advice and had the best food in Monti.

Great location , walking distance to Termini station and many attraction, few minutes only to metro. Very compact but thoughtfully furnished, clean , did not try kitchen much as many eateries nearby. Bathroom adequate but not easy to get into bathtub/shower if you have hip problems or on the larbe size. We were grateful for the lift with the luggage. Internet access worked well on our computer, but very slow on the apprtment computere and printer did not work. Contacted owner who had been unaware it was a problem until we told him. Overall very good experience and would stay threre again.

THE perfect Roman pied a terre in a convenient neighbourhood ...the neutral aesthetic is so well thought out ... all the way down to plenty of electrical outlets for recharging and the 3 prong electric socket adapters... and very strong wifi...all very much appreciated... this apartment should become the template for all other rentals owners to copy! we will return for sure (if its ever available!!!!)
Owner Comments: thank you
