Apartment Owner's Notes and Description
A spacious apartment, tastefully decorated with all amenities; conveniently located within a few minutes from the Colosseum Metro.
This charming, homely apartment has been refurbished with love and care, keeping the comfort of the guests in mind at all times.
An ideal location in a historic part of Rome, with two bedrooms and an extra bedroom on an open loft space; two are queen size and a third is with three single beds.
There are two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a jacuzzi and shower.
The living room has a TV SAT - SKY and there’s a large fully equipped, eat-in kitchen with every amenity, including a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave.
The bonus is the internal terrace, which also has a barbeque.
This is a real home away from home apartment in the eternal city.

Hello from back home in Maryland,
I was unable to open your message asking me to rate and tell about our experience in apartment 184b. It was so wonderful that I did not want to miss the opportunity to contact you directly and am doing so as a "reply" to a former message.
First of all the location was perfect. Seeing the Colusseum from the window, having a full service grocery store across the street and an excellent supply of nearby restaurants and gellatarias, as well as a metro stop was most convenient.
Federico was very accomodating, arranging airport pick-up from and to the airport as needed as well as supplying us with extra towels and keys.
About the apartment: Absolutely wonderful! Spacious, well equipped, in very good condition and cheerfully and artfully decorated. We felt "at home" and comfortable.
I am so glad I chose it for our Rome vacation. Perhaps we'll make a return visit in the future.
Sincerely,

Enjoyed the apartment and Rome very much. We were delayed arriving but Federico was very tolerant of it, and very friendly. Noise from upstairs through the hard floors was quite noticeable at night, we heard every scraping chair noise, but that's common in city apartments anyway. Also, the mezzanine bedroom has a very low ceiling up and down, and no lights near the bed head for reading, or bedside tables. Finally, the jacuzzi was okay if you like them, otherwise it just seemed a shame to split the bedroom for it! These are only minor niggles, the apartment was nice and funky, and very well placed for the Colosseo. Don't be tempted to use the airport bus shuttle, dreadful service - a taxi is 40 euros from the airport so not much more, and a lot easier.

A spacious, attractive and comfortable apartment just steps from the Colloseum. The three bedrooms were perfect for our family of two adults and two children. The third (loft) bedroom was ideal for our 9 year old, but might be a bit cramped and awkward to access for adults. The other 2 bedrooms provided plenty of space, and all three beds were very comfortable. The outdoor patio is very nice, all kitchen appliances worked well, and the satelite television was ideal for the children.
The location is close to line B of the Metro, with two good grocery store options (one directly across the street) and many good restaurants within an easy walk . We would strongly recommend this as an excellent alternative to a hotel for a family visiting Rome.

The apartment itself was clean and well stocked. It was close to everything we wanted to see. We rate this poor because of the service we received (or better, the lack of service we received). Our plane was delayed in Paris and Federico met us to give us the keys and show the apartment. After receiving our money, we never heard from him again. This would have been ok, however, our baggage never arrived and we had no working phone in the apartment. We had no way of calling the airport to check on our luggage. He said he would have it delivered to the office and bring it over. As far as we know, he never thought of us again. We all had only the clothes on our backs. For the 9 day stay, we had no luggage, no means of communication, no toiletries. We had to leave the apartment a day early in order to be in a hotel close to the airport so as not to miss our flight, because the apartment had no alarm clock and we had no cell phones (they were packed in our lost luggage). This cost an extra 260 euros on top of the cost of the apartment we had already rented. Rome was beautiful, and we will remember it as such. We will have to... because we have no pictures. Such a shame to spend your honeymoon in a wonderful city and unable to enjoy it because the ambassador that has the skills to communicate with the airport stands between you and your luggage and never makes a call. Federico gets an F from these tourists.
Manager's reply :
Dear Clients,
It displeases me to read such a review and that the blame of your lost luggage, which seems to be the source of all your aforementioned complaints, would be placed on me. Considering that the first time I heard from you was at 10:30pm on Christmas Eve for your check in without any advanced notice, and that I was happy to get you settled in, and made myself available in any way possible after hearing about Alitalia losing your luggage, I feel these comments are unmerited.
I did in fact call Alitalia every day to check on the status of your luggage, which I explained to you everyday that we spoke on the phone. It is out of my control that they lost your luggage and were not able to deliver it to you for the remainder of your stay. Knowing this, I did everything in my power to accomodate you and to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Maybe it was not clear when I explained to you every day when we spoke on the phone concerning your lost luggage, that ALITALIA who lost your luggage at CHARLES DE GAULLE airport would provide a compensation of up to €50 euros per lost piece of luggage PER DAY which would have been an allowance of €200/day. I explained this to you many times and that you could buy all the things you would need for your trip and that you would be recompensated for basic needs like a digital camera, clothes, etc.
It displeases me that you would be so compelled to speak against my apartment and publish such a scathing review of my vacation house and the service I provided out of the frustration you had with Alitalia in which I have no association and does not regard me.
Kindest Regards,
Federico

The apartment was fantastic, more than we expected. Federico was also great. Very helpful and eager to please. The restaurants he recommended were some of the best we tried in Rome and all for a very reasonable price. A nice surprise was the Carrefour Express just dwn the street. They had everything we needed. We will definitly be back to Rome and Roman Reference is the first contact we will make.
Thanks again.

Our stay was absolutely delightful!
Apartment 184b was...
* Great location (the noise from the street was a little loud for those staying in the two larger bedrooms especially late night on weekends and every morning with the trash compacting and pick-up down below, but the loft bedroom was quiet)
* Clean and fresh (we enjoyed having the towels changed out mid-week)
* Appreciated how the apt was equipped for cooking, DVDs, umbrellas, etc.
* Frederico, the key holder, was very accommodating, friendly, spoke excellent English, and quick to answer any questions and respond to our needs
* We especially enjoyed the terrace and spent 90% of our time on it!
* Good value for our money
* Suggestions ---
o Have an alarm clock in at least one room
o Ensure the car for the airport can accommodate the number of people and luggage (it was a very tight fit for four of us and our luggage on Friday, May 14th!)
We (three couples) would recommend this particular apartment to anyone.
Our experience with Frederico/Apt 184b and Roman Reference was truly more than we could have imagined. We will tell everyone to not go to hotels, but check Roman Reference for the best possible stay in Rome!
Thank you again for all of your help and the friendly customer service. Our best regards,
