DISAPPOINTING.
We unpleasently had to find out about two major inconveniences when staying in this apartment for 6 days with two young couples.
1. BED SITUATION:
On the website it was stated that there should have been a double bed and a french bed available. The double bed in the master bedroom was fine, but in the small bedroom there were two uncomfortable single beds with different heights, lenghts and a barrier randomly alligned. Since we had a couple sleeping in this room, this layout was clearly disappointing and differed from what we had booked. A french bed should have had one single matress with a width of at least 1.60m.
2. BATH SITUATION:
Since the bathroom is only accessible by walking through the master bedroom, having to sleep in this room was very inconvinient. The lack of privacy and the need for everyone to switch on the lights to get to the bathroom at night time were very bothersome.
Had these two informations been on the apartment description I certainly wouldn’t have booked this place travelling with two couples and paying nearly 2200 Euros.
Trying to get in contact with citiesreference.com was another issue. It took me several mails and nearly a month to get a „no“ for an answer for financial compensation from the apartment owner. Although the website description had been changed in the meantime, my claims where found to be unjustifiable.
CONCLUSION: I would not recommend to stay in this apartment with more than 2 people.

Let me once again say how much my friends and I enjoyed staying at the apartment and I would definitely recommend it to friends visiting Rome. It's beautiful and in an ideal location.

Renting this apartment (87 Via Giuila) was probably the best decision we made in planning our trip to Rome. It was really roomy for the two us. Really even more space than we needed. We used the spare room for our luggage, set up ironing board, etc. The location is very good. Via Giulia is like "palace row". At one time, the street had a number of palaces on it and most have been coverted to apartments. One down the street, Palazzo Farnese, is still a palace although it serves as the French Embassy. So, while staying in this apartment, you feel like your in a Grand Location. Another great aspect of the location is that you can walk to many interesting sites. Campo di Fiori is a 10 minute walk. Piazza Navona is about the same. Continue walking east from Piazza Navona another 5 or 10 minutes and you're at the Pantheon. Another 15 minures or so and you're at the Colosseum and the Forum. Walk north from the apartment and in a 1/2 hour or so you're at Trevi Fountain. Or, if your feet hurt, call a cab to a cab for around 10 Euros. Okay so the location is great. But wait till you see the apartment itself It's decorated in a classical style. The walls are lovely painted stucco. There are great moldings around all the doorways. French windows everywhere letting in the breeze. The tapestiries, featuring Minerva, help to give the place a classical Roman feel. It's way up on the 4th floor but it's got an elevator. At first I thought I'd forgo the elevator and take the stairs. I tried that once and switched back to the elevator! The kitchen is designer/gourmet. Stainless steel counters, dishwasher, gas range, garbage disposer. (It could use a microwave). There are nice dishes, glasses, silverware, 2 stove top expresso makers (but no milk frother). Bathroom, bedroom, living room are all nice. The place has a balcony that runs halfway around the apartment. This is a really nice feature. If you look up, while walking down Via Giuila, you'll see that very few places have balconies. The apartment has a wonderful roof top deck. The view is of Roman roof tops (and a peak at St Peter's) with the green hills of Janiculum Hill (a large park) in the back ground. Really lovely. Plan on using the kitchen. As I mentioned, you're only a 10 minute walk from Campo di Fiore so you have access to some of the finest ingredients available. Take home left overs from the dinner out and build the next night's dinner around them wih the great produce from Campo. Also there's a good market close by on Corso Vittorio Emmanuelle II. Staying this apartment made us feel like we were locals living in grand style and, because of the kitchen and location I think we saved money over a hotel stay.

This large apartment had a wonderful location near the river: a 12-minute walk to the outdoor market at Campo de Fiori, 15 minutes or so to the Vatican, a grocery (they're all small) about 5 minutes walk, and a major street with buses to everywhere about 2 minutes away. It's on the 4th floor so having a lift was really lucky. The flat was very clean and quiet, the heat worked wonderfully; the kitchen was modern and had the majority of cooking hardware needs, and we cooked nearly all of our meals there (great dishwasher and fridge). The furniture and wall decorations are frankly a little bizarre, or were to our taste, and very dark,, but you can see them in the pictures. The double/queen bed was very comfortable, as was the single bed, and the bathroom relatively large and nice and the whirlpool bath very pleasant indeed. There was a terrace that ran around the main level and a spiral metal staircase up to a wonderful patio that would have been great to eat on if the weather had been more appropriate, but the view of the roofs of Rome was lovely and you could catch a glimpse of St. Peter's. The staff was friendly and responsive. The things I recommend being sure of before going are: is the oven working (it may have been turned off, not sure, when we were there): get clear written instructions for the bath, it was not dummy-friendly; same for the (very good) washing machine; be sure there's working furniture up on the terrace; and check out the internet situation to be sure it's turned on and available for you, we didn't get that clarified with the management beforehand and were disappointed not to have it. If all those things are in order it would definitely be 5 stars from us. Many windows which would give a great breeze for the warmer days in Rome.

I stayed in this appartment for 2 weeks and I would gladly return: Fantastic location, quiet, clean and everything in perfect working order. The views are fantastic, and we loved the decor. We loved staying in an authentic Roman appartment and the price was fair for the 2 weeks. We have booked to come back again! See you soon! Margherita and Ben

What a fantastic apartment and location. I have stayed in this apartment several times over the past couple of years and each time it has been a wonderful experience. The apartment is of the highest quality with exquisite interior decorations. At times you don't want t o leave the apartment enjoying/absorbing it's atmosphere. Once you do step out you couldn't be in a better location to explore Rome. You are within walking distance of all the major sites. But the most impressive aspect of the lcation is you are emersed with the locals. Strongly Recommended.

We have just completed our trip to Italy and enjoyed it greatly. We stayed in a Cities Reference apartment in Rome and we feel that we should give you some feedback.
Our apartment was Via Giulia listing #122, Oct 12-19. Our comments are as follows:
1) The location was wonderful
2) The apartment was clean but the furniture and furnishings were way below what is to be expected for the price
3) The television is very old and not functional - there is no excuse in 2012 to have an outdated TV which works only occassionally (although the person who met us attempted to give us instructions, he could get it to work only periodically).
4) The deck has furniture which is uncomfortable and so old that it is potentially a risk - chairs collapsing etc, - making the deck a negative rather than a positive.
5) The lighting in the apartment was unbelievably poor- we had to buy new light bulbs and new toilet paper during our stay.
Overall, we were pleased with the arrangements of Cities reference - we were met promptly and location was good.
We would rent again from Cities Reference, but certainly not this apartment - I would suggest considering taking it off of your listings unless the owners do some basic maintenance (television, lighting, furniture on deck).

Staying in Rome for 6 weeks was an exciting and tremendous event in my life that will never forget, and staying in this appartment was heaven itself. Inspirational with all the luxuries, tremendous views and the closeness to everything that is something in Rome. To get an idea of what this all meant for me look here: http://www.fvanderriet.com/roma.htm
If you are thinking of staying here, hesitate no longer and go for it. You will never regret it.
