Apartment Owner's Notes and Description
My just renovated 62 apartment is located on the first floor in old building in a silent and green court yard few steps from the beautiful Landwehrkanal at the border between Nord Neukölln and Berlin-Kreuzberg.
The apartment has high celing, wooden floor, fully equiped kitchen with gas stove, electric owen, boiler, toaster, coffe machine, moka machine, ironing board and iron bathroom with shower, a 160/200 doublebed, a 90/200 single bed and a cozy 160/200 bedsofa, wasching machine and dishwasher
Free Wifi, TV with DVD player, radio.
Fresh towels and fresh bed sheets are included.
On demand computer, baby cot and bikes (6€ per day)
Final cleaning is 30€.
We can offer you an extra cleaning during your stay for, 10€ per hour.
In the apartment you'll find several information about Berlin, maps and guides and if there is anything missing, just let me know and I will try my best to take care of it. I live in the same building.
Public parking is available just in from of the building.
The apartment is located in the trendy scene rising at the border of Kreuzberg and Nord Neukölln (known as Kreuzkölln) in the middle of the multicultural Berlin scene. Few meter away from the charming Landwehrkanal. “Kreuzköln” is now really booming, with bars, cafes, galleries and restaurants opening almost every week.
The attractive Turkish takes place every Tuesday and Friday along the Canal where you can buy fresh vegetables, fish, meat or eating a delicious kebab watching one of the canal-side live jam sessions.
3 Parks are within walking distance (including the former Historical Airport Berlin Tempelhof)
You will find all the public transportation that you need in order to get through Berlin. In 2 minutes walk you can reach the metro station U8, U7 and Bus M29 (which is quite special because it passes by the Jewish Museum, Checkpoint Charlie, the Martin Gropius Bau, Potsdamer Platz, the New National Gallery and the KuDamm).
There are many super markets in the area (Edeka, Lidl, Aldi, Karstadt in Hermanplatz (10 min away) a Bio LPG, many kiosks open all night long and many bakeries (one in the building!) cafes and a variety of international restaurants, for each taste and every budget.
Within walking distance from the apartment there are also design shops, vintage stores, book shops, galleries and boutiques.
The atmosphere in the streets of the multicultural neighborhood is very cozy, friendly and alive, much more real and beautiful of other parts of the city.
Here you can experience the real Berlin nightlife in bars and clubs, all in within walking distance: Weserstraße, Hobrechtstrasse, Ohlauerstrasse, Reichenbergerstrasse and Kottbussertor. And during the summer Club Der Visionäre and Badeschiff are really close.
There are lots of cinemas in the area that screen film in orginal language (many even open air).

From airport Tegel TXL :
1) a taxi for about 30€ and 30 minutes ride
2) a bus to Alexanderplatz and from there the metro U8 direction Hermannstrasse till Schönleinstrasse (50 mins). From the metro station take the Sanderstrasse from Kottbusserdamm, walk till the end (2 mins) and you will end up in front of Friedelstrasse 30.
From airport Schönefeld:
1) a taxi for about 25€ and 25 minutes ride
2) the Bus #171 till Hermanplatz and then from there 10 mins by foot.
3) Bus Rudow wxpress till the metro statio U7 Rodow till hermannplatz.
From Hauptbahnof (main station):
Train to Alexanderplatz and from there metro U8 direction Hermannstrasse till Schönleinstrasse (50 mins).

As described in the confirmation paper, we called the owner 2,5 hours before our arrival (12:00 h) at the apartment. The owner(Carla Molino) and her family were on holiday and her life partner(Daniel Wuschansky) took our call. It seems to us, that they were surprised about our call and first they had to check whether the apartment was end-cleaned. Finally they arranged the end-cleaning and we were asked to enter the apartment after 13:00 h. As we entered the apartment, we were shocked from the dirtyness(incl. fixer stuff!) of the main entrance(staircase) of the house. We were also very disappointed of the cheap IKEA-furniture, missing towels and very dirty kitchen wipes. For a price of 115,00 € per night you can expect in Berlin a 4 star hotel quality level. The handover of the keys was handled by an employee of the owner. As we wanted to pay, as directed in the guidelines, the remaining part of the rental fee in cash to the employee, he was not willing to take the money, because he did not know the exact amount. So, he asked us to wait another 2 days for owner's direction after their return from holidays. We then have send the owner an email with our points of disappoinment and our mobil number. After the owner and her family returned from holiday, the life partner of her called us and accused us very loud and agressive of breach of rental contract, because we did not pay the remaining rental fee in cash to the owner's employee. As we tried to explain to him, that we wanted to pay, but the employee refused, he did not really listen and threatened with police action to get us out of the apartment. Finally the owner directed her employee to collect the money. We then have send another email to the owner where we expressed our horror of the threat of her life partner and we insisted on an apology, We never got any reaction.
At the middle of our stay we changed the bed clothes and with this we got a new disgusting surprise. The mattress protector sheet was stained and not cleaned or replaced before we moved in. We send another email to the owner describing the situation. Finally the employee of the owner entered the apartment in our absence and brought a fresh mattress protector sheet and a cheap bottle of italian red wine.
We never were contacted personally by the owner or here life partner to apologize for all these shortcomings.
In all our lfe, we never had such a bad experience!
